In the art market, Covid-19 has had the most immediate effect on emerging artists. Up-and-coming artists, who, even before the pandemic, were making very modest incomes, are now left without commercial outlets for their work, as many galleries, auction houses, and art fairs have shut down.
UpCycle Foundation and Paraiso Miami Beach partner up once more to foster a sense of solidarity within the art and fashion community by supporting selected works that promote “feel good” initiatives and connect people despite absence of public gatherings.
Dejan Despotovich is a Serbian artist and fashion designer based in Miami. His melancholic yet dark and poetic works include digital art on paper and different techniques on Canvas, using materials such as ropes to achieve the transfer of his imagination and emotion onto the surface.
For each portrait purchased from Dejan, the UpCycle Foundation will donate a face mask to a first responder.
The cost of an individual portrait is $150. To commission a custom portrait of yourself, your family, or a friend please send a request at Paraiso's website.
